National dialogue sans red lines, says member of presidential pardon committee 1 - Egyptian Gazette

No topics on the agenda of the national dialogue are seen as a red line, said member of the presidential pardon committee Karim el Saqqa on Tuesday, adding that there is no ceiling for the talks.

It is a “positive” case and a proof that the new republic can accommodate all parties and respect different views, Saqqa said in statements to MENA.

The national dialogue, which was launched on May 3, is meant to achieve real democracy, he noted.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the public prosecutor, the Interior Ministry, and all state apparatuses are strongly interacting with the committee, Saqqa said.

Opponents and supporters are engaged in rich and diversified negotiations with intellects, experts and the civil society, he said, noting that all those represent the big majority of Egyptians.

Indeed, the national dialogue has helped arrange priorities, such as those underlined during a meeting of the political parties’ committee to be referred to the president at a later stage for implementation, Saqqa said, noting that this is meant to revive the multiple partisan life in Egypt.
