Outgoing South Korea’s Ambassador to Egypt, Hong Jin-wook, on Monday paid a farewell visit to Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek to say that parliamentary co-operation between the two countries should be maintained.

Hong expressed gratitude to the Senate Speaker for the parliament support during his three-year tenure. The high-level exchanges, such as the visit of South Korea’s National Assembly speaker in October 2021, the visit of the Korean president in January 2022, and the phone call between the two presidents in September 2022, could not be done successfully without help from parliament, Hong said.

Speaker Abdel-Razek said Ambassador Hong’s relentless efforts have brought the level of co-operation between the two countries to the highest level.

Abdel-Razek promised to do his part in maintaining co-operation and to work closely with Ambassador Hong’s successor on exchange of visits by parliamentary delegations from both countries.
