CAIRO – Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit vehemently condemned the attack that occurred Tuesday near a synagogue on the Tunisian island of Djerba and resulted in the killing and injury of a number of people.
In a statement, the AL secretary general said such incidents will not undermine Tunisia’s stability, voicing the pan-Arab body’s full support to Tunisia in all efforts meant to uproot such criminal acts targeting the country’s security.
For his part, AL spokesman Gamal Roshdy expressed his sincere condolences to the Tunisian government and people over the death of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
He also hailed vigilance of Tunisian security forces in controlling the situation.
