CAIRO – The US Embassy in Cairo said Thursday that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is to visit Egypt on Sunday and Monday as he will meet with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Posting on its Facebook page, the US Embassy said Blinken will also meet with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry and a number of senior officials to push forward strategic partnership and enhance peace and security in the Middle East region especially the joint support to the elections in Libya and the current political process in Sudan.
Shoukry is also scheduled to hold a joint press conference with Blinken at the Foreign Ministry premises.
Blinken’s visit to Egypt is part of a regional tour that will take him to Israeli and the West Bank.
