Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukri headed to Paris Friday at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron to participate in a ministerial meeting convening foreign ministers from Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement.
“The visit comes within the framework of French efforts and keenness tocoordinate with Arab foreign ministers to push for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and to discuss ways to put an end to the humanitarian crisis there,” Abu Zeid said.
The spokesman pointed out to efforts aimed at ensuring the flow of aid to Gazans. The meeting will also highlight international and regional effortsto put an end to the crisis politically and support a two-state solution.
