The Arab League called for maintaining efforts to complete and modernise strategies and mechanisms for combating criminal and terrorist threats.
The pan-Arab organisation also urged boosting criminal justice systems in order to tap new vistas of co-operation and partnership among Arab countries and UN Office on Drugs and Crime and promote regional and international co-operation to face these crimes.
The remarks were made by Assistant Secretary General and Head of Legal Affairs Sector at the AL Mohamed el Amin to the sixth meeting of a follow-up committee for the second phase of the regional program for Arab countries to prevent and combat crime, terrorism and health threats on Wednesday.
The three-day meeting, which convenes in Cairo, is offering an important opportunity for reviewing criminal justice systems in accordance with international criteria of human rights (2016-2022).
The AL official affirmed the pan-Arab body is supporting implementation of all programs aimed at combating such threats.
The world at large is very concerned about uprooting terrorism and all forms of organised crime, he said.
