CAIRO – Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit said the latest developments in the Palestinian territories showed once again that conflict management is not the solution, warning that the situation has reached a serious juncture due to the practices of the Israeli occupation which undermine the two-state solution and open the door for more violence and turbulences.
These remarks were made by Abul Gheit during his meeting with Secretary of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement Jibril el Rajoub at the Arab League premises.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the territories in light of the growing Israeli violence and provocations against Palestinians.
Rajoub briefed the AL chief on the situation in Jerusalem City and the Israeli scheme to enforce a temporal and spatial division at the Al-Aqsa Mosque along with the rapid expansion in Israeli settlement building activities in the occupied territories.
