Eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli army gunfire while six others were detained during an Israeli army raid into several areas in the occupied northern West Bank city of Jenin, WAFA reported.
Palestinian security sources said that a large unit of Israeli forces raided Jenin city from different directions as snipers were deployed on rooftops, mainly in the vicinity of Jenin Government Hospital.
They said intense confrontations broke out between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces, who fired live bullets towards the youths, injuring eight of them, one of whom was reported to be in critical condition.
Israeli forces obstructed the work of ambulances while trying to transfer the injured to hospitals in Jenin as an Israeli military vehicle ran into two ambulances, causing damage to them.
A Palestinian who was critically injured on Monday has died of his wounds, WAFA quoted the Ministry of Health as saying.
It said Ashraf Mohammad Ibrahim, 37, a former prisoner and an officer in the General Intelligence Service, has died after sustaining wounds from two explosive bullets that hit his abdomen and chest.
Palestinian Presidency Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said on Monday that all the settlements established on the Palestinian territories, including Homesh settlement, are illegal.
He asserted that continuous aggression will not achieve security and peace.
The decision on the return of settlers to Homesh settlement that was evacuated in 2005 is rejected and condemned, Abu Rudeineh said.
