The Egyptian delegation’s harvest in the Mediterranean Games competitions witnessed mixed results, as the mission achieved one gold and five bronzes.
The results of the Egyptian mission on Wednesday in the Mediterranean Games were as follows:
Shaima Mohamed won the bronze medal in the 53kg freestyle wrestling competition, after defeating the Italian player in the match for third and fourth places.
Mohamed Abdel Mawgoed won the gold medal for the 66 kg judo competition, after defeating the Italian champion in the final match in Aiboun.
Ali Zahran won the bronze medal in gymnastics competitions, after he ranked third with a score of 14.6, and the Egyptian player Omar Abdel Rahman ranked fifth after winning 14.2 in the same events, to fail to achieve any medal.
Azmi Mahilba also won the bronze medal in the skeet shooting competitions of the Mediterranean Games currently being held in Oran, Algeria.
Yousra Sami, a judoka, won the third place and the bronze medal in the 60kg judo competition.
Samar Hamza won the bronze medal in the 76 kg freestyle wrestling competition after defeating the Spanish player in the match to determine the third and fourth places. This brings the Egyptian delegation’s balance to 22 medals, including 5 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze.
On the other hand, Yousri Rizk, a player of the boxing team, succeeded in qualifying for the final of the Mediterranean Games in the over-91 weight category, after defeating the Algerian champion 3-0 in the semi-finals.
Hana Gouda, a player for the national table tennis team, qualified for the quarter-finals of the Mediterranean Games after defeating her Tunisian opponent 4-0 in her third match in the second group stage.
Omar Asr, a player for the table tennis team, also booked his place in the quarter-finals, and Asr qualified for the quarter-finals after his Portuguese opponent apologized for the injury.
Boxer Omar Abdel Aziz succeeded in qualifying for the semi-finals of the 69kg boxing competition.
