LUXOR, Egypt – Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy stressed that the international Luxor marathon is special and contributes to increasing the number of tourist arrivals in the Upper Egyptian governorate.
The minister made his remarks on Friday during the launch of the 30th edition of the marathon, in the presence of a host of senior officials.
The marathon is held under the auspices of the ministries of tourism and youth and sports, with the participation of more than 1,000 competitors from all over the world.
At the end of the event, the minister and Luxor Governor Moustafa Alham honored the winners.
