Egyptian Premier League: Enppi wins as Zamalek stunned

CAIRO – Enppi secured victory during the 21st week of the 2023-2024 Egyptian Premier League season, while Cairo powerhouse Zamalek was unable to maintain their winning streak.

At Cairo International Stadium, Enppi claimed a ruthless 5-1 win over NBE Club.

Ghanaian forward Yaw Annor opened the scoring for NBE Club in the 27th minute following a powerful shot into Enppi’s goalkeeper Abdul Rahman Samir.

Enppi’s midfielder Modi Nasser scored twice in the 55th and 74th minutes respectively.

In the dying moments of the match, midfielder Mostafa Dowidar and Youssef Labib added the fourth and fifth in the 88th and 90+6 minutes.

The victory left Enppi to 4th place with 32 points from 21 matches as NBE Club dropped into 15th place with 18 points from 21 games.

At Borg el-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Zamalek’s bid for a fourth consecutive win in the domestic competition was thwarted by Smouha, interrupting their winning streak.

Previously, the White Knights had secured victories over Al-Ahly, NBE Club, and Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in their three preceding matches.

The result pushed Smouha into 6th place in the domestic table with 31 points from 20 matches, while Zamalek remained in 12th place with 24 points from 15 matches and still has six in hands.
