Actor Ezzat el-Alaili died yesterday. He was 86.
He was born in the downtown Cairo district of Bab El Shaariya in 1934. El-Alaili graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1960. Two years later, he made his debut starring in his first film ‘Message from an Unknown Woman’.
He then took leading roles in several TV serials such as ‘The Group’, ‘Years of Love and Salt’ and ‘Rendezvous with Monsters’.
Among his greatest film credits are ‘The Road to Eilat’, ‘The Egyptian Citizen’, and ‘Execution of a Judge’.
News of El-Alaili’s death was broken yesterday by his son. Fans, colleagues and friends attended his funeral in 6 October City.
