The Greek Cultural Centre in Cairo is celebrating its 20th anniversary and the opening of its renovated premises on Thursday.
Greek and Egyptian artists will be participating in the event.
The works of Greek artist Christina Papoulia and Egyptian artist Wageeh Wahba will be on exhibition.
Pianist Mohamed Hassouna, violinist Bjork Oskarsdottir and saxophonist Dora Mastaka will perform selections from Greek music.
“The Greek Cultural Centre celebrates its work of over twenty years under the auspices of the Greek Embassy in Egypt and the Greek Community in Cairo and the promising future guaranteed by the course of two full decades of fruitful presence of the Greek Cultural Centre in Cairo, when it contributed to the spread of Greek language and culture and in developing cultural relations and interactions between the two friendly peoples by organizing hundreds of cultural events in co-operation with Greek and Egyptian cultural institutions and with the participation of artists and scholars from both countries,” the Greek Cultural centre said in a statement.
The exhibition will be held at the Greek Cultural Centre, 1 Fostat Street, Salah el-Din Square, Heliopolis. The event will start at 7pm.
