The Embassy of Chile in Egypt will host a webinar themed “Atacama Desert: Gateway to the Universe”, with the purpose of offering a tour of the skies of the Antofagasta Region in northern Chile.
The Antofagasta Region is home to some of the world’s largest astronomical observatories and is famous for its extraordinary natural landscapes.
Its location in the Atacama Desert makes this area an exceptional setting for observing the universe.
Chilean astronomer Eduardo Unda-Sanzana, PhD in Astronomy, University of Southampton, will offer a tour of the night skies of the Atacama Desert, revealing some of Chile’s most remarkable features, as well as introducing astrophotography techniques for capturing images of the night sky.
This event is organised by the Embassy of Chile in Egypt and will be broadcasted live through a WEBEX programme link.
