World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative in Egypt Dr. Naeema Al-Gasseer, commended country’s National Health Strategy (2023-2030).
Minister of Health and Population Khalid Abdel-Ghaffar launched the strategy at the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Development (PHDC 2023) on Wednesday.
On the sidelines of the meetings of the PHDC held at the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Al-Gasseercongratulated Minister Abdel Ghaffar, for his innovation of the principle of participationin launching the strategy.
She also congratulated all nationals, and residents, as the strategy reflects a special interest in people and their health.
In the meantime, Al-Gasseer highly appreciated the presidential Decent Life initiative which is based on the principle of participation of several agencies. She also stressed that health security and well-being constitute a joint responsibility between the government, the private sector, experts, citizens and several other parties.
The WHO representative also lauded directives of the Minister of Health that the plan to provide funding for the implementation of the health strategy be sustainable in partnership with several agencies. Shealso stressed the importance of the role of young people in the implementation of the strategy.
