The State plans to expand the reclamation of arable lands nationwide in order to control production cost and thus control prices, said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The livestock production rate does not cope with the current population growth, he added.
Egypt’s population has increased 15 million in just seven or eight years, said President Sisi.
The implementation of the national veal project, along with other projects in other spheres, is meant to attain self-sufficiency and export the surplus abroad, he further said.
Sisi, meanwhile, pointed out to the million heads of livestock project, adding that the cost of this project stands at about LE5 billion.
President Sisi further underlined the importance of the private sector’s participation in the livestock production.
Several measures were taken when the one million cattle project was launched, said President Sisi while commenting on a speech delivered by Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister El Sayed El Quseir in Sadat City in Menoufia Governorate on Monday.
This project aimed to enhance the industry in the country, added President Sisi.
The research center, inaugurated today, ranks third in the world, he added, noting that such projects are carried out in order to enhance the industry.
President Sisi, meanwhile, directed the governors to adopt a plan for urban development in the markets nationwide.
He also pointed out to the high inflation rates in the European and Western countries, although these countries have stable industrial systems, supply chains and governance.
