Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, Dr Ahmed el-Sobky, met on Friday with Governor of Ismailia Akram Mohamed Galal.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed means to improve healthcare services in Ismailia.

Governor Galal emphasised that the Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS) project is crucial to developing healthcare system nationwide. He commended the quality of healthcare facilities affiliated with the EHA and their pivotal role in providing excellent medical services to citizens.

“This reflects the state’s vision of achieving comprehensive and advanced healthcare for all segments of society,” the governor said.

Following their meeting, el-Sobky visited the Emergency and Specialised Surgery Hospital in Abu Khalifa, Ismailia. He reviewed the ongoing work and efforts being made to provide the best healthcare services to patients. He also toured the emergency, intensive care, and inpatient departments, ensuring the quality of services provided to the sick people.

During his visit, el-Sobky made sure to solicit feedback from citizens regarding the medical services. He pointed out that citizen satisfaction is a key indicator of the success of the UHIS.

The project is aimed to reform the entire health care system, not just the health insurance sector, in addition to providing health care services for all so as to achieve social solidarity between members of society, besides providing a good health service that covers all diseases.

It includes an integrated package of diagnostic and treatment services, and also allows the people to choose health service providers.

It also aims to reduce personal spending on health services and reduce poverty due to disease.
