CAIRO– The Trade and Industry Ministry has made some amendments to rules regulating the registration of factories whose products meet import terms in Egypt.
A ministerial decision was made in March with the aim to ease registration procedures and set deadlines, the media center of the Ministry said in a statement Sunday.
Overseas companies wishing to export their products to Egypt should, under the new decision, renew all valid documents within a period of not more than 30 days from expiration date, the center made it clear.
The factory registration unit at the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) is revising documents submitted by firms to make sure that the plants do exist and are applying quality systems, it said.
The statement today followed news about the suspension or cancelation of activities of some firms in Egypt. A GOEIC list has been released including some firms that failed to provide the required documents, the center noted. (MENA)
