Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir asserted that his ministry pays big attention to the industry of leather not only at the local and regional levels but also at the international level via achieving integration between the valuable chains in the Egyptian leather industry to reach to high-quality product capable of competing in the local and foreign markets.
This came during a meeting held by the minister to review the opportunities and potentials of developing the leather industry in Egypt to meet the needs of the local market, export to the foreign markets and clarifying the latest developments in the leather city at Robaiky.
Samir pointed out the keenness of the ministry to attract new investment in this sector and localize the industry of leather in Egypt in addition to transferring the international expertise to the Egyptian market.
He pointed out to the importance of benefiting from the development partners to provide the latest technology and expertise to develop the national leather industry in addition to boosting cooperation with the Egyptian research bodies and the private sector companies in Egypt to produce the needs of the sector of leather industry from crude chemical materials locally.
Samir reviewed the latest developments in the leather city in Robaiky that was established on 506 feddans.
The meeting tackled a number of important axes to develop the leather industry in Egypt including the importance to provide qualified labor and activate technical and vocational training for the leather sector.
