CAIRO – Labor Minister Mohamed Gibran issued a decision considering Thursday, July 11, a fully paid day off for the private sector workers on the occasion of the Hijri New Year.
The new Islamic year of 1446 AH will start on Sunday 7 July.
In a statement on Friday, the minister extended greetings to all Egyptians and Muslims worldwide on this religious occasion.
The decision also applies to all municipal and public business sector employees.
