Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, and Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis, discussed in Cairo on Tuesday ways to expand energy co-operation between the two countries.
The two ministers focused on setting up partnerships in carbon capture and storage (CCS) and green hydrogen transportation, which would bring significant economic and strategic benefits for both countries.
They reviewed investment opportunities and infrastructure in both countries, emphasising the need to develop a clear roadmap for joint projects in energy and sustainable development.
Both sides also discussed the possibility of signing an agreement for cooperation in CCS and highlighted the importance of working with the European Union.
Skylakakis noted Egypt’s strong potential in renewable energy and infrastructure, pointing to the steps taken by Greece to support and develop the infrastructure in its energy sector.
Both ministers stressed the role of modern technology in supporting these initiatives.
