OSLO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed with Norwegian companies Egypt’s national strategy to increase dependence on resources of renewable energy.
Sisi asserted that Egypt prioritises the sector of renewable energy especially with the potentials available in Egypt whether the natural resources or infrastructure.
He lauded co-operation with the Norwegian company of Empower and other companies, pointing out to Egypt’s keenness on boosting co-operation and opening new horizons for mutual benefit.
This came during Sisi’s meeting on Tuesday with executive chiefs of Empower and Golar companies, the Norwegian Agency for Development Co-operation (NORAD) and Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) on the sidelines of his visit to Norway as part of his European tour.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shenway said that the meeting tackled means to boost investment co-operation between Egypt and the Norwegian companies.
The meeting reviewed the most prominent policies implemented by the Egyptian government about economic development plan and the importance given to support the private sector and attract more direct foreign investments, Shenawy said.
The meeting tackled opportunities of three-way co-operation in Africa to support development efforts in the continent, he said.
