Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday reviewed the activities of the Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund and its role at the level of social and development work.
Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
President Sisi’s meeting with his Advisor for Financial Affairs Mohamed Amin featured a presentation of the overall contributions ofthe Fund, and the services it has offered to people across the nation over the past period.
Amin referred, in this regard, to the Fund’s numerous activities, which include support for vulnerable families, orphans, and people of determination. It also organised social protection convoys in co-operation with non-governmental organisations and civil society institutions, providing foodstuff, clothing, and various necessities of living to beneficiaries, the presidency spokesman said.
President Sisi gave directives to bolster the role of the Tahya Misr Fund to complement state efforts to achieve comprehensive development, support vulnerable segments and improve their living conditions, as well as enhancing their abilities to withstand social challenges, Spokesman Fahmy said.
This can only be achieved through partnership with government agencies, civil society institutions, and the private sector, taking into accountthe broad geographical coverage, which helps in extending development and social assistance to all eligible beneficiaries nationwide.
