CAIRO- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday inspected the control centre of the Unified National Network for Emergency and Public Safety in Cairo’s district of Mokkatam.
Sisi was accompanied by a group of ministers and senior state officials.
The president listened to a detailed explanation from one of the project’s officials on the geographical coverage of the national network for emergency and the fully secured communications means it provides on all the state’s strategic fronts.
One of the officials in charge of the National Network for Emergency and Public Safety said the network provides secure communication services to cover 2,187 sites on all the state’s strategic fronts through the operation of technical work teams.
He also said geographical locations were divided into 9 districts in accordance with its geographical nature and population density, noting that 537 sites have been allocated to cover Greater Cairo, while 78 sites were to cover New Cairo districts.
This system aims to rapidly contain and address all types of emergencies, crises and disasters with utmost efficiency, during a limited period of time, by achieving full control, as well as cooperation and coordination among the state’s relevant authorities, the official noted.
This seeks to link all emergency response factors and vital installations such as electricity, water, gas, internet services, Global Positioning System (GPS) with control stations, he said.
