Sisi: Egypt looks forward to developing co-operation with Oman

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt looks forward to developing co-operation with Oman towards a sustainable framework of economic integration and strategic co-operation, particularly in light of the major challenges and the security, economic and social crises in the region.

This came during President Sisi’s meeting with Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said in statements on Tuesday.

During the meeting, President Sisi expressed his appreciation of the deeply-rooted ties between the two countries at all levels.

For his part, the Omani deputy prime minister asserted the depth of ties between the two countries, expressing the keenness of the Sultanate of Oman on promoting cooperation with Egypt to a strategic partnership with the view to serving the interest of the two countries’ peoples, and acting as a cornerstone for maintaining regional security and stability and restoring balance to the region.

He also stressed the importance of Egypt’s role at the regional and international levels, expressing his country’s interest in benefiting from the successful Egyptian experiment in implementing development projects and comprehensive economic reforms, which contributed to the resilience of Egypt’s economy in the face of various international and regional challenges.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed means to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in light of the outcome of meetings of the joint Egypt-Oman Business Council and the 15th session of the Egyptian-Omani Joint Committee, which was held in Muscat in January 2022, the spokesman said.

They also agreed on having consultations on the most important regional issues of mutual interest, intensifying coordination between the two sides on this score in the coming period, he added.
