Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has said that Egypt supports African solutions to the continent’s problems away from foreign interferences which complicate conditions in some countries.
The foreign minister’s statements came while addressing the inaugural session of the fourth edition of Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, which kicked off in Cairo earlier Tuesday.
The event was attended by Mousa Faki, African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit as well as a number of international figures.
He reviewed Egypt’s efforts to end the Sudan war and reach a political solution to the country’s problem in cooperation with the Sudanese.
Abul Gheit, for his part, said the pan-Arab organization agrees with the African Unuion on the importance of solving Africa problems without foreign interferences.
Faki, meanwhile, hailed efforts exerted by Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to resolve African problems.
