Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri received on Thursday US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry and reviewed various aspects of the current discussions in the COP27 climate conference, whether in official negotiations between countries, or seminars and events held on the sidelines of the conference.
During the meeting, the US climate envoy reviewed the most important elements of the US position towards the items on the agenda of the conference.
Minister Shoukri was keen to confirm the keenness of the conference presidency to assist all parties to reach the required consensus on various issues in a way that would enable countries and all partners to promote and support the international climate action agenda, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukri also assured the US envoy that the presidency of the conference is happy with the positive spirit prevailing among the delegations, and the desire to reach understandings and consensual positions on the various items on the agenda. He noted that he is always keen to listen to all participating parties in order to achieve this goal, the spokesman said.
