CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker met on Friday with Director of the Signal Department of the Armed Forces Bakr Al Bayoumi to probe means of benefiting from the unified national network for emergency and public safety.

The meeting comes as part of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to set up a unified network for emergency and public safety to publicize its services and applications.

The meeting also took up the potentials of the network and its operation with wireless communication technologies to secure safe communication means for all state bodies.

Shaker, on his part, praised the national project which maintains the state’s privacy of data and aims at building an integrated system for management of emergencies and crises in accordance with international standards.

A number of top brass and a number of officials at the Ministry of Electricity attended the meeting.
