Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation and Chairman of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) Hani Sewilam asserted the importance of improving services of drinking water and drainage in the African continent to maintain hygiene, ecosystem and biological diversity.
Sewilam’s remarks came while participating in the high-level ministerial session, titled “Africa Day..Innovations And Exchange of Knowledge” on the sidelines of activities of the World Water Week in Stockholm.
He said the African Union seeks to attain a comprehensive coverage by 100% of water and drainage services by 2030 as part of the 2063 African Union Agenda.
