The Egyptian Senate, under Abdel Wahab Abdel Razik, approved on Tuesday during its plenary session on the first article of a draft law submitted by the government on establishing the supreme council for the automotive industry and fund for financing eco-friendly cars.
The first article stipulates that the prime minister heads the council with the membership of the industry minister as a deputy, the ministers of the public business sector, planning, transport, finance, and military production.
The council is also supposed to include four experts, nominated by the industry minister, for four years, renewable once. The premier is allowed to add more members.
The bill aims to create a friendly climate for the automotive industry through a national strategy to develop this sector.
