CAIRO – A security source denied claims on some Brotherhood social media pages that the fraudster stole the money from a number of Aswan people to do business with a police office.
The source dismissed the claims as baseless, noting that the Brotherhood policy aims at spreading fake news to confuse people.
On Saturday, security forces arrested some people over defrauding citizens and seizing their money, allegedly using it in car trade in Edfo in Aswan governorate.
The deceived people set fire to houses of the fraudsters and some cars. No injuries had been reported.
The main accused person was arrested in El Omraniya, Giza governorate with 16 gold bars, weighing 10.5 kilograms, in his possession and an amount of money.
His father and a number of his aides were also arrested concerning the case.
