The Red Wave-7 joint naval exercise concluded today with the participation of naval elements from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, and Djibouti. The exercise, which continued for several days in the territorial waters of Saudi Arabia, is part of the joint training of the Egyptian Armed Forces with friendly and brotherly countries.
The exercise included several lectures to unify the concepts of joint work among all participating elements, as well as training on countering speed boat attacks and training on the right of call and inspection. Additionally, various sailing formations were executed, demonstrating the level of harmony between the participating units.
The final phase of the exercise included the execution of a practical demonstration on storming a coastal island under the cover of fire by air force elements, as well as providing air support to the forces, scouting the island’s coast, and securing it in preparation for the forces’ advance and successful execution of the storming.
The drill included a number of scenarios featuring exercises that offer significant training opportunities. It also included strategic lectures and simulated combat exercises designed to reflect potential real-world situations.
It aimed to promote joint and combined operations, such as surface and air warfare, electronic warfare, and countering speedboat attacks. The forces also conducted maritime security exercises, including protecting shipping lines and combating smuggling, terrorism, piracy and illegal immigration
The concluding phase of the exercise was attended by a number of naval commanders from the participating countries, as well as cadets of the Egyptian Naval Academy and the Military Technical College.
