During a solidarity stand organised by the Council of Arab Ambassadors at the headquarters of the Palestinian Embassy in Rome, in response to the bombing of Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital in Gaza, Ambassador Bassam Radi told international news agencies that the Cairo Peace Summit, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, would be an historic opportunity to revive the peace process in the region.
Radi has made it clear that it is also an opportunity to give priority to the “reason” and work towards calming the situation, pointing out that resolving the Palestinian question and establishing peace will open limitless horizons of security, co-operation, stability, peaceful coexistence and development in the Middle East region.
The diplomat also called on correspondents of international news agencies to carefully review the statements of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday.
“President El Sisi gave a focused and in-depth explanation of the current situation and the seriousness of its continuing repercussions on the entire regional security, warning against forced displacement of the people of the Gaza Strip to Sinai and the liquidation of the Palestine cause,” Radi added.
