Egypt’s Public Business Sector Minister Mahmud Esmat said the ministry is making strides toward the promotion of green transition and clean energy sources in coordination with the state’s efforts and the world climate action to attain green and sustainable economy transition.
Esmat’s remarks came during the first meeting of the high-level supreme Egyptian-German committee for energy and green hydrogen on Monday.
The minister said the state is keen on offering more incentives and facilitations for green hydrogen production projects to lure further investments to this vital sector in the light of recommendations of COP27, which was hosted by Egypt in Sharm el Sheikh in November.
Green hydrogen will play an important role in enhancing the world energy transition to protect the environment and reduce carbon greenhouse emissions, according to him.
Esmat underscored Egypt and Germany have a deep and strong partnership to mitigate the bad impacts of climate changes within the framework of the partnership project for hydrogen production and securing energy supplies through new sources
