An informed source told The Middle East News Agency (MENA) that the private plane that headed from Cairo Airport to Zambia does not bear Egyptian nationality and was subject to inspection.
The informed source confirmed to MENA that the plane, around which much confusion was raised about its departure from Cairo airport to Zambia, is a private plane that had transited through Cairo Airport and underwent thorough inspection to ensure that it met all safety and security standards that are applied by all Egyptian airports and ports.
The source confirmed that the plane does not bearthe Egyptian nationality. Regarding reports about another plane that was detained by Zambian authorities, the source stressed that this plane never crossed Egyptian airspace in the first place.
The source added that high level coordination is currently taking place between Egyptian authorities and their Zambian counterparts to find out the facts and circumstances of the incident.
