In light of the latest developments in Gaza Strip, political analysts in Egypt warned of falling into the trap tailored by Israel to force Palestinians to leave their lands and this is totally rejected to protect Palestine and stability as this scheme seeks to erase Palestine from the regional map.
“we have to realize this and not fall prey to this trap. Egypt realizes this very and adopts vigilant strategy,” Editor-in-Chief of Ahram Al-Arabi weekly magazine Gamal El-Keshki told The Egyptian Gazette.
The analyst said that the Palestinian file is central for Egypt. The Egyptian position has been consistent and steady throughout history. Egypt’s stance is to establish a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, where East Jerusalem as its capital.
“This is crystal clear in Egypt’s role in initiatives and international treaties from Camp David 1978 to the Peace Treaty 1979, the Madrid Agreement 1991, and the Oslo Accords 1993. This is in addition to Arab agreement in Beirut 2002 until the successful conference in Alamein that brought together the Palestinian factions.”
The analyst also referred to the tripartite meeting between Egypt, Jordan and Palestine as Egypt reiterates its strong rejection for flagrant Israeli practices and confirmed the need to end any practices that violate Palestinian sanctities and the right of self-determination of Palestinian people.
“All world talks to President Sisi asking him to intervene to ensure ceasefire. This reflects world’s trust that Cairo has the solution key.”
Egypt’s vision is that no peace or stability in the Middle East without the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state, he added. “Egypt role is steady and such Israeli practices undermine the two-state solution.”
