Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badwi discussed on Monday with a delegation of Chevron company prospects of accelerating gas exploration programs in the Mediterranean.
The minister emphasised commitment of the government and the oil sector to supporting investments and boosting the oil and gas output, expediting the development processes of the explored fields, increasing the search and exploration in new areas along with removing all obstacles facing partners.
He added that the aforementioned plans fall within the framework of great significance attached by the state and sector to increase the production and secure further supplies.
During a meeting with senior officials of Chevron, Badawi was briefed about the working plan of the leading oil company for gas exploration and producing it by its concession in the Mediterranean area.
Badawi said that he is pleased with the presence of Chevron and its investments in the Egyptian petroleum sector.
Meanwhile, Chevron officials expressed pleasure over operations in Egypt and their expansion in the year 2020 in the domain of natural gas exploration.
They underscored the significance of developing the gas exploration realized in Nargis offshore area concession in the Mediterranean.
The delegation hailed co-operation with the Italian integrated energy company Eni, the co-operator of Nargis concession.
