Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi thanked the Egyptians for standing by their country during the crisis of the Ever Given vessel that ran aground in the Suez Canal.
The president said, “Egyptians have proven that they stand by their country, despite the difficult circumstances and challenges,” stressing that “Egyptians’ awareness and keenness helped the country overcome the challenges and crises.”
President Sisi added that as soon as the crisis was over, the reaction was remarkable reflecting the extent to which the Egyptians love their country.
President Sisi also renewed his thanks to all employees of the Suez Canal Authority, and all parties that participated in ending this crisis.
He emphasised that despite the magnitude of the crisis, there were no losses of lives, nor in the “hull” of the ship or its cargo. “Therefore, we salute Suez Canal Authority – with all its elements – from the head of the authority to the youngest of the people involved in this matter.”
