Ayat el-Haddad MP who sits on the Egyptian parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee strongly condemned Israel’s Bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday night.
“This terrible incident is considered a flagrant violation of international law and the provisions of international legitimacy and humanity,” el-Haddad said, adding that she resented the silence of the Human Rights Organisations.
“Israel’s ongoing offensive against the Palestinians is genocide according to the Geneva Convention,” said.
“Palestine is still paying the price of the Balfour Declaration until today, as it opened the door for Israelis to emigrate to Palestine and commit war crimes against Palestinians for decades.
The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 announcing its support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people”.
El-Haddad sees Britain and the US directly responsible for the Israeli occupation of Palestine starting from Balfour Declaration.
“The British mandate on Palestine was the key to Israeli occupation and settlement of Palestine, and the American veto was the supportive force for this occupation,” she said.
“The American veto has weakened the role of the UN Security Council in stopping the ongoing Israeli aggression on Palestinians,” she added.
