As many as 4.7 million head of cattle have been vaccinated against the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and the Rift Valley Fever (RVF) nationwide so far, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation said on Wednesday.
This came in a report received by Agriculture Minister El Sayyed el Qusair and Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Animal Production and Fisheries Moustafa el Sayad from the General Authority for Veterinary Services on the total number of cattle immunised against FMD and RVF as part of the vaccination campaign launched on July 14 to protect livestock in the country.
As per the report, 2.5 million head of cattle were vaccinated against FMD and 2.2 million others against RVF.
