The aspects of boosting joint co-operation between national press institutions and the Tanta University in the cultural and educational fields featured high during a high-level meeting Wednesday.
Head of the National Press Authority Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy met yesterday Dr Mahmoud Zaki, President of Tanta University to probe joint co-operation and efforts to launch a number of exhibitions, libraries in the fields of journalism, printing and advertising in the coming period.
At the beginning of the meeting, NPA praised the university-launched 900900 Hospital as the first smart university hospital with international specifications, established in the city of Mahalla al-Kubra, explaining that this project supports the health sector in Gharbia and provides medical services to patients in the delta governorates.
Shorbagy also lauded the university’s keeping pace with the new in the world of artificial intelligence by owning a smart robot unit at the Faculty of Engineering to train students on the latest technology.
For his part, Tanta University President Zaki said that the NPA has made strenuous achievements in the file of restructuring the national press institutions, in a way to face the current challenges that the paper press suffers from all over the world, as well as o strengthening its historical and national role as a major tool for education and enlightenment.
Dr. Zaki praised the national role played by national newspapers in educating public opinion about the current challenges.
