Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla said on Tuesday Egypt adopted plans and mechanisms to overcome current challenges in the field of energy security depending on the balance between energy transition and reduction of emissions and energy security, pointing out that Egypt enhanced its strategies to turn into a regional hub for clean energy resources and low-carbon resources.
This came during a closed-door dialogue session under the title of ‘Accelerating the Formation of Creative Policies to Achieve Secure and Low-Carbon Energy Future” on the fringe of ADIPEC petroleum exhibition, which kicked off Monday and runs till October 5 in the UAE city of Abu Dhabi. The event is attended by a number of oil and energy ministers from the region.
The minister reviewed the plans and mechanisms adopted by Egypt to overcome current challenges in the field of energy security.
He also pointed out to Egypt’s joining the Global Methane Pledge in the field of gas and oil in June 2022, noting that Egypt is seeking to co-operate with all its partners to accelerate the implementation of low-carbon methane projects.
