Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has underlined the importance the project of developing Saint Catherine (The Greatest Manifestation Above the Land of Peace in Saint Catherine).
During a meeting with Minister of Environment Yasmin Fouad on Tuesday, the minister said a committee was formed from the ministries of environment and tourism to follow up the implementation of the project whose first phase will cost LE4 million and is due to be inaugurated in April, 2022.
He said the project comes within the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to develop the city and make use of its tourist and religious potentials.
The project is one of the most prominent projects carried out by the Ministry of Housing upon the directive of the president who ordered that it must be consistent with the status of the unique sacred spot in the land of Egypt, and to present it to humanity and the peoples of the world.
The state is working on developing an integrated vision for the construction and marketing process of the eco-lodge in Saint. Catherine, with the aim of promoting it as a destination for global tourism.
