Board Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Middle East News Agency (MENA) Ali Hassan said Egypt is now witnessing a national lineup behind President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and all State institutions to take all necessary measures to safeguard national security and support the Palestinian people with all possible means.
“Egypt will not allow liquidating the just and fair Palestinian Cause,” added Hassan in remarks at a special session of the Arab Media Leaders Forum, that is held by the Arab League’s General Secretariat (Media and Communication Sector) on Thursday.
The Forum convenes under the theme “Arab Media In Defiance of False Narration about Israeli Aggression on Gaza.”
The event is attended by a number of experts and leading officials of Arab and Egyptian media.
MENA’s Board Chairman and Editor-In-Chief Ali Hassan called for establishing a major Arab media company, whose activities include news channels in various languages to address the world community on our just cases and genuinely convey viewpoints of the Arab world, with special focus on the Palestinian Question, which should not be left captive to Israeli narratives alone with their lies.
Hassan said he thinks the pan-Arab organization should take priority to sponsor such a proposal.
Hassan said: “Our symposium is being held today amid critical and extremely difficult circumstances facing our Arab world and our central issue, the Palestinian issue.” The Israeli occupation forces are committing heinous violations, collective punishment crimes against the Palestinian people, in addition to genocide, demolition of facilities and buildings and the targeting of civilians and the failure to deliver the humanitarian and relief assistance, including foodstuffs, water and medications to Gazans to turn Gaza into a city unfit for life or human residence amid an Israeli illusion of the possibility of expelling them from their homeland, Hassan pointed out.
Israel is using the media as a key weapon along with the internationally-banned arms in this battle against innocent civilians in the Palestinian lands, Hassan asserted.
He stressed that Israel is carrying out a systematic process of falsifying facts, spreading lies, forgery and obliterating the facts in multiple media outlets in the West, turning a blind eye to the stories of the aggrieved and the rightful persons, who are the Palestinian people. Israel is always trying to hide the fact that the it is essentially an occupying force that has no right to exist in the occupied Palestinian territories as per international legitimacy resolutions.
Hassan further warned that Israel, in its media messages, does not stop falsifying facts and claiming injustice through fabricated news, pictures, videos and false movies.
He affirmed that Arab media outlets must constantly communicate with Palestinian news sources, establish a disciplined and precise coordination mechanism in this regard to publish true news, facts and media materials on the ground regarding violations and acts of aggression in Gaza, using all forms of digital media as well as traditional media.
MENA board chairman called for translating – first and foremost -our media messages and news about pressing issues and viewpoints of our leaders and Arab and regional organizations regarding the Palestinian cause in various languages and post them via our media outlets or social networking methods to address peoples across the world in various languages, especially English, French, Chinese, Russian and Spanish..etc, in an attempt to get world countries acquainted with our opinions and proposals to solve the crisis.
He underscored the importance of highlighting articles, thorough press coverage and reports of civil society organizations that are supporting the Palestinian right through mass media in different world countries.
The measure is meant to create a Public pinion that is backing the Palestinian Rights, in addition to stopping never-ceasing attacks on the Palestinians, he mentioned.
It is very important now to pay a greater attention to our central issue; The Palestinian Cause, he said, concluding there is a dire need of stopping all forms of sedition, conflicts, strife and fighting in a number of Arab states to attain and maintain security, stability and social peace amid threats posed to our nation and having their toll on all of us.
