Egyptian Minister of International Co-operation Rania al Mashat on Monday asserted Egypt’s keenness on boosting international partnerships with multilateral and bilateral development partners in the water sector based on state’s ownership and its priorities.
The minister made the remarks during her participation at session of the water sector forum within the framework of partnership between Egypt and the European union, which is organized by the EU on the fringe of the sixth edition of the Cairo Water Week (CWW) that takes place under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Mashat highlighted structural and legislative reforms adopted by the state in the water sector which contributed to booting investments in such a vital domain.
The new irrigation law draws up a framework towards promoting the participation of the private sector in the water resources and irrigation projects, Mashat said.
