Egyptian Minister of Emigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram reviewed during a video conference meeting with a number of Egyptian youth living in Germany activities of “Asli Masry” (My Origin is Egyptian) programme, with the aim of preserving the Egyptian identity of expatriate youngsters and helping them learn the Arabic language.
A statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday said during the meeting the minister also discussed activities of “Etkalam Masry” (Speak Egyptian) initiative, that was launched on numerous social media platforms, to help promote Egyptian national identity among expats living abroad by introducing them to the Egyptian dialect of Arabic.
The minister hailed efforts exerted by the German government, Egyptian expats’ parents and their children in contribution to all drives meant to interactively link children and youth living in Germany to their homeland and educate them on Egyptian customs and traditions.
