Units of the Egyptian and Spanish navies conducted joint exercises at Egypt’s Red Sea Barnice Naval Base Sunday, within the framework of a strategy by the Egyptian Armed Forces to exchange expertise with the militaries of friendly states.
Participating in the games on the Egyptian side were the Sharm el-Sheikh Frigate and the missile craft, June 18. The amphibious warship ESPS CASTILLA LPD participated from the Spanish side.
The games included a wide range of professional naval activities, including logistics and supply and a naval formation training.
The games demonstrated the ability of participating units to take their required positions with speed and precision.
They also contributed to the exchange of expertise with the Spanish side, the Egyptian army said in a statement.
The games serve the mutual interests of the Egyptian and Spanish navies, besides enhancing joint military co-operation between the two countries, it added.
