African students have the chance to win 150 postgraduate scholarships in science and technology, a top academic official announced Tuesday.
President of the Egypt-Japan University for Science and Technology (E-JUST) Ahmed el-Gohary said the scholarships would contribute to African development in general.
An E-JUST delegation visited the embassies of 15 African countries in Cairo, namely the embassies of Angola, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, to give an introductory presentation, highlighting the grants offered by the university plus details on admissions and registration, el-Gohari said.
Egypt has regained its leading role in Africa during the era of President Sisi, el-Gohari said, adding that the university aims to serve “brothers in Africa”. The scholarships cover the latest developments in science, supporting development projects in Africa.
