Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat held an expanded meeting Saturday with a galaxy of Egyptian businessmen who are living in the US to discuss the most important projects of “Digital Egypt” and potential investment chances in this vital sector.
The minister had an open discussion with specialists and experts in the domain of communications, information technology and electronics industry about the latest developments of the sector and painstaking efforts exerted by the State to develop IT industry and localize the electronics industry, in addition to policies pertaining to stimulating investments in such spheres, according to a statement by the ministry.
Discussions also highlighted ways of supporting Egyptian young creators and innovators and startups, added the statement.
Talaat met with the co-founder and CEO of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Jodi Shelton and discussed with her the action strategy for “Egypt is manufacturing electronics” that is aiming at strengthening the electronics industry and developing main fields of this promising industry.
