Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati and new Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Alessandro Fracassetti discussed the situation of current and future activities of the projects funded by the “Green Climate Fund” in Egypt.
During the meeting, Abdel Aati asserted the co-operation relations between the Ministry of Irrigation and the UNDP.
A project is being implemented to boost adaptation to climate change in the North Coast and the Nile Delta and it is funded by the Green Climate Fund in co-operation with the UNDP by 31.4 million dollars.
Abdel Aati pointed out to the importance of hosting COP 27 in Egypt and putting the water issue on top of its agenda.
